Hello, thank you for the helpful video. I changed the chain and everything works fine but my emergency pedal thats suppose to allow the gate to manually open, since I changed it hasn't been letting me manually open. Any suggestions?

So I am currently installing my first us automatic gate opener. I seem to be struggling with the photoeyes. If I switch dip 7 and 8 back and fourth I can get them to open ore close but just can't seem to find the issue

Good video. My sliding gate is mounted on the dwelling side of the posts. Can the photo eye be mounted on either side (street or dwelling)? Advantage to one way or the other?

I am having the sam exact problem on one of mine in a dual application… one was somewhat difficult to manually move before I connected to the gate. The second one didn’t move at all. I am going to hook it up to the board and see if it will free up

Just replaced the cap on the motor in my Elite 3000, I guess 15 summers in this Dallas heat was finally enough. Knock on wood everything else is working well now. I will keep your company in mind if I need help in the future, these videos are very informative, thanks.

My Eagle Gate Operator Reverse Loop light comes on Any help? My photo eye’s green lights are on though. However, when it hits the reflective plate, red lights come on I purchased an EMX Photo Eye and it has an extra common wire ( white ) not sure where this wire will go?

Our fire department requires a Red emergency activation strobe light, I am using a csl24ul slide gate these are the requirements, 1. All motorized gates must also be equipped with one flasher unit and one external lamp assembly with a red globe and guard to be mounted. 2. The light shall be visible from both sides of the gate, be mounted at the top of the fence within two (2) feet of the gate opening and flash upon the gate being activated by the MFD Opticom™ compatible receiver platform system or Knox® Key Switch 3502 (mechanical key type). 3. The strobe shall continue to flash as long as the gate is being held open by the emergency access system. Is it normal for the carriage/trolley to be extremely tight on the LA500? I can’t really make it move manually at all and am certain it is unlocked correctly.

Some manufacturers also make a rack drive system. These are great if installed properly. No chain to deal with. The other thing that makes a big difference is purchasing a get opener with a dc motor. The ac motors start at full voltage and cause the chain to jerk with that full power instant start & stop. The dc motor allows the unit to ramp up and down the speed and greatly reduces the chain slap and torque put on the chain. The other benefit with dc drives is they lead themselves to have battery backup easier than an ac system. A huge plus! Make certain that you systems accessories are wired into the circuit board for power so those too can have the battery backup. At minimum make certain the receiver is on the backup.

Mines only a year or so old, and it’s already starting to rust....

I keep getting mon-fault d6 gate won’t open

Is it possible for a capacitor like this one to fail ONLY for starting the OPEN operation of the motor? As you might gather from a previous comment I made on one of your other videos, I have an All-O-Matic SL-100 which works perfectly for the CLOSING operation, remote, board, etc. But when I click to OPEN, while I can hear the REMOTE work to "Click" the board into the open function, and can see the light flashing to OPEN, etc, the motor doesn't kick in, doesn't even try.

I have one of the older SL 100 gate openers. It has been working fine for many years. In the last week for the first time, the gate stopped opening. If I manually pull the gate open, the CLOSING operation works perfectly, meaning the remote, the board, the motor, etc. Of course, I have taken off the cover and looked everything over, cleaned everything, etc. The remote operations, the open and close limit switches and the board all seem to be working just fine. But for the OPEN GATE function, the motor just doesn't seem to be getting any power any more. It doesn't even try to open. So the board just keeps flashing open until I manually open it to the point that the OPEN limit switch thinks the gate motor opened the gate correctly all the way. From there, I can use the remote again and presto, the gate CLOSES perfectly and the electronics all work as usual, but ONLY to complete the closing function. Once it closes, if I want to open it, I have to do it manually. Anyway, I know the motor is working to close the gate. I know basically that everything is functioning normally except that the motor does not engage to OPEN or even act like it is getting the power to open. Have you run across this before and is there a relay or something that might have burned out? I pressed the "reset" button on the motor but that didn't seem to change anything. Another thought. Would it hurt anything for me to temporarily "test" the open function by reversing the wiring so that the CLOSE wires and OPEN wires from the board are switched? Even once, just to see if I can get the gate to open by using power from the "close" terminal instead? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Isnt the LA500 overkill for that small gate? Why couldn't the LA400 be used?
